Full Time, Day Shift 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
You Will Be Responsible For:
Maintains self-competencies required to help oversee the POCT program.
Ensures all testing personnel have required training and competency assessment maintained and appropriately documented.
Participates in and performs training and competency assessment of clinical staff.
Serves as teacher, coach, and mentor for Point of Care testing clinicians.
Evaluates and validates new instruments or testing procedures.
Maintains current analyzer ongoing validation, correlation, troubleshooting and maintenance.
Provides input on POCT policies and procedures.
Helps ensure the Quality Management of the POCT program is maintained.
Adheres to hospital and laboratory regulatory requirements including CAP, CLIA, Florida Statutes as well as Joint Commission.
Helps prepare and maintain documentation for CAP and Joint Commission ensuring ongoing inspection readiness.
What You Will Need:
Ability and willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays if the need arises.
Knowledge of laboratory rules and regulations including: CAP, CLIA, State of Florida and Joint Commission.
Good teaching, coaching and mentorship skills.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology from an accredited institution.
3 Years Laboratory Experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a POCT environment.
Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology from an accredited, University based program. (preferred)
8 Years Laboratory Experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a POCT environment. (preferred)
State of Florida – Clinical Laboratory Technologist License in Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Immunohematology and Immunology.
State of Florida – Clinical Laboratory Supervisor License in Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Immunohematology and Immunology (preferred)
MLS(ASCP) or MT(ASCP) (preferred)
Medical Technologist responsible for assisting with the coordination and oversight of hospital Point of Care Testing (POCT) (waived and non-waived) in accordance with the Statutes of the State of Florida, Joint Commission and CLIA at our facilities.
