The technical catheterization laboratory staff shall be experienced in handling acutely ill patients requiring intervention to include intra aortic balloon pump. Each member of the nursing and technical catheterization laboratory staff shall have at least 500 hours of previous experience in dedicated cardiac interventional laboratories at a hospital with a Level II adult cardiovascular services program. They shall be skilled in all aspects of interventional cardiology and peripheral equipment, and must participate in a 24-hour-per-day, 365 day-per-year call schedule as per AHCA rule 59A-3.2085
2 years of experience with acutely ill patients. Experience with peripheral equipment and procedures as well as Electrophysiology and Device implant procedures (preferred)
The Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist scrubs, records (mapping for EP), and circulates cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures for emergent and non-emergent cases. The Technologist will also assist in IR and the AHNP OR with various vascular procedures. The Technologist utilizes their knowledge to care for patients throughout their procedure in the Cath Lab and Electrophysiology Lab. In addition to providing procedural care, the Technologist is expected to facilitate a multidisciplinary approach to patient care and communication among all caregivers.
