You Will Be Responsible For:
The Nurse Tech supports the delivery of patient care in accordance with standards of care emphasizing basic hygiene, comfort, and activities of daily living under the direction of the Registered Nurse to promote the achievement of identified patient outcomes.
Communicates, and assists with treatments as instructed by the RN/LPN.
Provides for patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials, answering patient call lights and requests, transporting patients, and reporting observations to the RN.
Obtains Vital Signs, weights, I & O, and point-of-care testing (I.e., blood sugars, fecal occult blood).
Reports changes of condition, potential problems or concerns involving the patient or family promptly to the nurse in a timely manner. (i.e. Vital signs, intake/output).
What You Will Need:
High School diploma or GED upon hire
Current enrollment in an accredited nursing program
Completion of Fundamentals of Nursing (transcript) upon hire
Current American Heart Association BLS certification upon hire
The Nurse Tech (NT) is accountable for performing routine care under the direction of the RN/LPN. They provide for the comfort of the patient and communicate according to protocol.
The NT is responsible for acting as a role model for the mission, and patient promise of AdventHealth North Pinellas. They are accountable for working within the parameters of the Florida Nurse Practice Act, regulatory standards, established policies, protocols and procedures; and utilizes other pertinent references as guidelines for clinical practice.
