Through minimally invasive, laparoscopic procedures and surgery using the acclaimed da Vinci® Surgical System, patients suffering from all manner of urologic disorders can find healing, often with same-day service.

General Summary:

The PA or APRN under the supervision of the Physician, who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for:

• Performs physical examinations of patients; evaluation and treatment of acute and chronic urologic conditions also including urologic oncology within the clinic and hospital setting

• Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc.

• Monitors the patient’s course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed

• Collaborates with physician and staff as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff

• Always displays a caring and professional attitude as well as maintaining personal and professional growth

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, patients, and the public.

Schedule Details:

• Schedule is Monday-Friday, 50% clinic: 50% hospital

• Rotating Weekends

• Campus Covered: AH Winter Park, AH East Orlando, AH Winter Garden, AH Apopka, AH Clermont, AH Orlando, AH Celebration, AH Kissimmee

Required Education/Experience:

• Master’s degree in Nursing (APRN) with First assist certification or Physician Assistant (PA-C) Studies

• 1-2 years’ experience in Urology, Internal Medicine or Hospitalist preferred

Licensure, Certification, and Registration:

• Current, valid Florida PA or APRN license

• Certification by NCCPA, ANCC or equivalent

• First Assist Certification (APRN)

• BLS & ACLS

• Current, valid DEA license

Hospital Description

AdventHealth Waterman (formerly Florida Hospital Waterman) is a 300-bed, full-service community hospital located in the heart of Lake County. Founded in 1938 by Frank Waterman, president of the Waterman Fountain Pen Company, the hospital has grown from an 18-bed facility to a leading provider of acute and home health services in Central Florida. The hospital joined the Adventist Health System in 1992 and moved to its current location in 2003. With more than 1,900 employees and over 300 physicians and advanced practice providers on its medical staff, the hospital treats more than 14,000 inpatients a year and treats over 65,000 patients in its Emergency Department annually.
