The role you’ll contribute:

The Education Coordinator Registered Nurse provides professional development expertise as an educator, consultant, facilitator, and leader. Each role supports the development of clinical staff, and fosters empowerment through knowledge to achieve excellence through the delivery of evidence-based clinical practice. The Education Coordinator directs the orientation of all new AdventHealth Home Care employees in the region and provides continued educational programs for all clinical personnel. The Education Coordinator serves as a resource person for staff and assists in the electronic medical record training for all clinical staff regarding processes and programs. The Education Coordinator also performs the following activities: assists in developing, implementing, and revising all Agency processes; assists in directing, supervising, evaluating, and coordinating patient care services provided by Agency personnel to ensure the delivery of quality patient care; assists with the ongoing Performance Improvement process; encourages a harmonious, high-performance work environment, characterized by positive relationships and a strong team orientation, while providing the maximum amount of autonomy possible for staff members; facilitates the adult learning process, creating a climate which supports learning; assists with financial management to ensure cost-effective patient care; provides input into staff performance evaluations. Continued employment is contingent upon the ability of the Education Coordinator to perform job duties as outlined in this job description.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Collaborates with the Manager of Education/Orientation and related departments to provide direction for the education activities, services, programs, and plans for the home care program.

  • Collaborates with the Manager of Education/Orientation and related departments to develop, update, and recommend the policies and procedures for delivery of educational training and orientation of staff and volunteers to comply with mandated regulations and organizational goals.

  • Monitors and evaluates clinical practice and identifies growth needs of the clinical staff. Implements and evaluates a plan to address clinical staff, growth, and development needs through continuing education training to clinical staff and as mandated by the state, federal government, accrediting bodies, and the organization as a requirement for employment. Coordinates guest instructors when training focus is outside the educator’s expertise.

  • Identifies problematic systems/process issues, develops plans to improve and monitors outcomes. Develops/implements process improvement and/or clinical best practice initiatives at the organizational and department level. Acts as a change agent, evaluates environment for change readiness and develops and implements plans for change using research and evidence-based practice. Monitors change-driven outcomes.

  • Collaborates with the Population Health and QAPI departments to identify clinician learning needs and deficiencies.

  • Coordinates with local and corporate Information Technology departments in the acquisition of the appropriate electronic devices and access to relevant department-specific platforms for all new hirs.

  • Serves as the primary liaison between the field clinicians and the local and corporate IT teams to resolve system/device-related problems.

  • Provide direct support and troubleshooting to all field users on the electronic medical record system and any associated programs.

  • Ensures proper and timely orientation of all new staff.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

Minimum qualifications :

  • Two plusyears home care experience

  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse

  • A minimum of one year medical-surgical or equivalent nursing practice with strong clinical skills

  • Current RN licensure within the state of FL

  • Current BLS

  • Maintain a current, valid Florida Driver’s License in good standing with a safe driving record and a reliable vehicle.

  • Maintain valid personal automobile insurance.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Certificate for OASIS Specialist-Clinical (COS-C)

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 3-5 years of experience in home health

  • Two (2) year of experience in home health.

  • Previous experience in supervision and/or education.
