You Will Be Responsible For:
Proficiency in performing technical imaging procedure, on all age groups regardless of age, race or sex, while providing efficient and courteous care.
Reports and resolves customer service issues in a timely and efficient manner.
Works with radiology staff and other departments, (ED, OR, etc.) to facilitate coordinated patient care.
Efficient utilization of supplies and resources including recognizing and reporting of equipment malfunction of equipment to prevent costly repair.
Complies with ACR and Joint Commission standards and directives.
Follow patient identification / verification process prior to performing exam or procedure.
Demonstrates evidence of continuous professional development
What You Will Need:
Ability to learn and use Radiology software packages such as Radworks PACS application, CT/ MR scanners and workstations, EMR such as Cerner.
Ability to quickly learn and follow departmental policies and procedures.
Maintain all required registries and licenses to perform imaging procedures.
Ability to follow basic radiation safety concepts of time, shielding and distance to keep exposure levels as low as reasonably achievable for patients and staff.
Ability to complete exams in an acceptable time frame to meet TAT goals.
Ability to assess, start and confirm appropriate placement of IV’s for use in CT and MR studies.
The ability to assess, explain and perform CT and MR studies on patients of all ages.
MR safety knowledge.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:
Ability to communicate (verbal and written) effectively and document information accurately.
Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals.
Ability to remain calm and focused during in stressful and/or emotionally charged situations.
Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to be highly detail oriented.
Demonstrated customer service skills with a patient centric approach.
Basic hands-on computer knowledge and MSOffice applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Working knowledge of Cerner is an asset.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
Successful completion of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology with advanced certification in one or both CT and MR.
1 year hospital experience
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
3 years hospital experience
Minimum of one year Radiologic experience.
Minimum one year MRI experience preferred.
Minimum one year CT experience preferred
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED :
Current Florida X-ray technologist HRS license upon hire
ARRT ( R ), NMTCB upon hire
BLS certification upon hire
One hour of Hip & Knee replacement education within 6 months of hire date, then annually
Performs a variety of technical scanning procedures that require independent judgement and initiative as required in the application of ionizing radiation for Cat Scanning and MR procedures. Be responsible for designated areas, policies, and equipment.
