Uncertified Anesthesia Technician - Outpatient Surgery Center– Winter Garden
Garden seeks to hire an Uncertified Anesthesia Technician who will embrace

Established in 1908, AdventHealth is one of the largest

of the Southeast, the Caribbean and Latin America.
AdventHealth Winter Garden’s Surgical and Endoscopy Services will
offer out-patient procedures in three suites supported by Pre-Admission
Testing, Pre-operative and Recovery Areas. Our facility will provide the latest
minimally invasive equipment to allow our patients to have their procedure and
recover in the comfortable surroundings of their own home, all in the same
day. We will support procedures for
multiple specialties and pediatrics age 6 months or older. Our team of
experienced Board Certified Anesthesiologists and certified Nurse Anesthetists,
along with our highly-skilled Registered Nurses, will provide confidence and
exceptional care to our patients.
Monday – Friday; 6a – 2:30p plus Call
Anesthesia Technician assists the licensed anesthesia providers in the
acquisition, preparation and application of the equipment and supplies required
for the administration of anesthesia. Anesthesia Technicians provide support in
anesthesia for routine and complex surgical cases. The Anesthesia Technician
prepares and maintains patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery
systems before, during and after anesthesia. The Technician maintains equipment
and provides servicing such as cleaning, sterilizing, assembling, calibrating
and testing, troubleshooting, requisitioning and recording of inspections and
maintenance of anesthesia equipment. May operate a variety of mechanical,
pneumatic and electronic equipment used to monitor, evaluate and manage the
patient undergoing anesthesia. The anesthesia tech participates in
Operating/Procedure room turnover and performs activities as directed to ensure
efficiency and safe patient care in Surgery/Procedure environment. Provides
supply management. Including stocking of non-narcotics medications. Actively

Knowledge, Skills,Education, & Experience Required:
Ability to communicate byreading, writing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectivelyin order to carry out job requirements.
Experience working withpatients in an acute care setting or operating room (preferred)
High school diploma or GED(preferred)
Ability to set priorities andrespond to stressful situations (preferred)
Ability to work effectively andefficiently under pressure in a stressful environment (preferred)

Under the direction of theAnesthesiologist or CRNA assists anesthesia professional staff asrequested: Assists in preparation and draping of patient for invasivemonitoring/ procedures by licensed anesthesia providers. Assists andanticipates needs of licensed anesthesia providers in invasive monitorinsertion and procedures such as pulmonary artery catheter, central venousaccess, regional anesthesia, fiber optic intubation and is familiar withthe ASA Difficult Airway Algorithm. Anticipates need for invasivemonitoring according to daily OR schedule. Aids in preparation of patientsfor major invasive monitoring and/ or complex cases including but notlimited to placement of BP cuff, ECG leads, Pulse Oximeter, positioning.Sets up OR for cases which may include the following: Preparation oflaryngoscope and intubation equipment, IV solution and tubing set-up andset up of IV warming devices. Participates in the process for bloodcomponent verification as needed.
Makes available, assembles, andassists with operation of specialized equipment such as humidificationunits; fiber optic endoscopic equipment; rapid infusion devices/bloodwarmers; patient warming devices; neuromuscular devices; infusion pumpsand syringes; balloon pump initial setups and TEE setup.
Maintains and organizes theanesthesia environment, equipment, supplies and personnel to facilitatedepartment functions. Maintains the availability of necessary equipment ineach operating room. Participates in room turnovers to ensure efficientflow of cases. Provides peri-operative technical support to the anesthesiaprofessional staff for delivery of patient care
Demonstrates detailed technicalknowledge and troubleshooting ability for anesthesia delivery system,scavenger system, gas analyzer, EKG, pulse oximeter and any otheranesthesia related equipment. Responds to and investigates all anesthesiamachine alarms. Ensures preventative maintenance is completed as required.Reports malfunctioning equipment and follows through to ensurereplacement.
Inventories, orders andmaintains departmental supply stock consistent with departmental demand.Cognizant of where supplies are kept and is able to obtain or stock themaccordingly. Maintains the sterile supplies and medications within theexpiration date. Ensures medications are secured at all times. Properlydisposes of used medications. Monitors refrigerators utilized for stock ofmedications.
Promotes a safe environment.Demonstrates appropriate action in emergency situations, demonstratesawareness and control of hazards which may endanger patients, visitors andemployees, identifies and reports environmental concerns to the managementteam. Ensures adherence to appropriate regulatory standards and FloridaHospital policy and procedures evidenced by maintaining appropriatedocumentation as required. Demonstrates knowledge of all Joint Commissionstandards that impact the anesthesia support role.
Follows CDC isolationguidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs hand washingaccording to policy and enforces safety regulations. Strictly adheres toall infection control practices. Demonstrates knowledge of decontaminationand disinfection principles related to anesthesia equipment.
Provides training and orientationto staff and new personnel. Maintains competency by attending departmentalin-service training. Certified Anesthesia Techs attend approved in-serviceeducation to maintain certification.
